PTAC started as an informal group of executives who engaged a research to find out about an interest in an approach to making changes in industry R&D. Nowadays Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada is a not-for-profit association that eases cooperative research and technology development to make improvements to the financial, environmental and safety functioning of the Canadian hydrocarbon energy industry.
PTAC's missions include facilitating innovations, cooperative research and technology development, making demonstration and deployment for a responsible Canadian hydrocarbon energy industry easier. One of the significant objectives of the company is that they are also concentrated on the upgrading of the environmental, safety and financial functioning of the field. PTAC finds it important to create fresh new methods to make forming values easier.
Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada has a volunteer board that consists of representatives from producers, technology suppliers, researchers, government, inventors and individuals. One of the company's roles is to be a objective facilitator and matchmaker for oil and gas industry alteration, technology transfer and collaborative R&D.
